The Bars Have It

We hope you & your family are well & we look forward to seeing you this weekend at BGSC!  This is a 5th Sabbath, which we have used in the past as a community service/family day, but so many of our members wanted to go ahead and meet at our regular time/place this weekend that we will go ahead with our weekly schedule as usual.  There will be a memorial service at Twin Pines at 3:00, so we will finish clean up by that time...

Our potluck theme this week is “The Bar’s Have It" (featuring a baked potato bar, a salad bar, & a cookie bar).  Of course, we love to have you join us even if you don’t bring a single thing ~ we always have plenty (&then some)!

We are still collecting wet wipes and diapers in sizes 4, 5, and 6 for Youth Arbor Services...

NEWSFLASH ~ We have had an offer for BGSC to participate in a potential church building mission trip to Laos!  It would be in cooperation with ADRA Laos or the Laos Mission.  Anybody interested??

We are looking for more folks to lead out in the prayer time, singing/playing a special musical number, or reading a scripture, etc....please let us know!

Continue to forward us your prayer requests as we are trying to compile an updated list and get a reliable prayer chain in motion!

NOTE...we are knee-deep in graduations this Summer/Early Fall.  We are planning a graduation party to celebrate these accomplishments!  Let us know if you or someone you know is graduating,

Upcoming Potluck Themes:
6/6    “Summer Picnic”
6/13    “Flag Day Dinner.”
6/20    “Father’s Day Delights.”
6/27    “Pool Party!”

Mother's Day Luncheon

Happy Mother’s Day Weekend!  We hope you & your family are doing well & we look forward to seeing you this weekend at BGSC.  Our adult & youth groups will meet at their regular time, followed by the worship hour & then potluck.  Our potluck theme this week is “Mother’s Day Luncheon” so bring a favorite dish of yours or your mother’s or grandmother’s to share!  Of course, we love to have you join us even if you don’t bring a single thing ~ we always have plenty (and then some)!

Thank you for your emergency offerings for Nepal last weekend ~ BGSC was able to make a sizeable donation because of your generosity.  Thanks!

May is Military Appreciation Month, so if you get a chance.....send a note of gratitude to someone in the military or simply keep them in your prayers.  We’ll be celebrating our military on Armed Forces Day with a special patriotic potluck next weekend.

We are still collecting flat sheets, soft dog treats, & durable dog toys for the Lexington Humane Society!  And....we are still collecting white towels, white twin sheets, pillows, & individually pre-packaged snacks for Youth Arbor Services here in town.  In addition, we are collecting carrots, apples, straw, brooms, rakes, & fly spray for the horses at the Kentucky Equine Humane Center.  They provide humane treatment and shelter while working to find adopted homes for all of Kentucky’s unwanted/abused/abandoned/homeless horses.
