As usual...the adult Bible study will take place in the fellowship area by the fireplace while the youth meet in the adjacent side rooms. Come enjoy a bite of breakfast or a hot drink before diving into the lesson study together. And kiddos....come ready to do a special craft, write/color in your sketchbooks, & practice our new theme song on the ukuleles!
Don’t forget to bring your prayer requests this week ~ we have index cards available so you can make notes & share them during the worship service. See Grace Anderson if you would like your requests added to the prayer chain...
OUTREACH NOTE ~ Our outreach project for May is a “baby shower” to benefit orphaned wildlife cared for by the KY Wildlife Center. Ideas for donations include.....gently used/new baby washcloths, baby blankets, toys, stuffed animals, towels, kitchen size and 55 gallon trash bags, paper towels, Tide pods, Dawn dish soap, canned cat food, dry breakfast cereals, cookies (like mini vanilla wafers and fig newton's), pampers sensitive diaper wipes, etc. Thank you for always coming through for those in need....both human and animal!

Cinco de Mayo
April showers bring May flowers! As always, we are looking forward to seeing you and your family at BGSC this weekend. Our potluck theme is "Cinco de Mayo." If desired, bring a favorite “Haystack” topping to share. Look for the potluck team text going out tonight...

Keeneland Kick-off Brunch
Farewell September! We are looking forward to seeing you & your family at BGSC this weekend. Our sermon series, “Galaxy” continues. Potluck theme is “Keeneland Kick-off Brunch.” Bring a favorite Kentucky themed breakfast dish to share...
There is a family (a single mom with 2 children) who has just been through an emergency relocation. They are in desperate need of children’s clothing (a few toys would be nice too). The boy wears a size 4T-5T & the girl is 18mo-24mo. You can bring new or gently used items to potluck this week...
We’ll soon begin thinking about organizing our annual holiday program & reception. Would you like to be involved? We would love to have your input and support! Potential dates for the program include Friday evening, December 13 or Friday evening, December 20. We’ll also be Christmas caroling after potluck one or two weekends in Dec...
Thank you for all the non perishable items you donated for Dominica following the hurricane several weeks ago. Our donations will be sent out this week! Look for pics of your donations on our Facebook page!
Also, BGSC will be donating supplies for an event at the New Opportunities School for Women in Berea (in early November). Let us know if you’d like to help. We will need several ladies to make 280 finger sandwiches together “factory style” the morning of Sunday, Nov. 8.

Autumn Favorites

We’ll soon begin thinking about organizing our annual holiday program & reception. Would you like to be involved? We would love to have your input and support!
Note ~ we are still collecting non perishable items for Dominica following the hurricane several weeks ago. Folks there are in desperate need. A friend of one of our BGSC family members has family in Dominica.....they will be sending a crate soon. We will add our items to theirs! Thank you!

All-American Steak & Potato Bar
We are looking forward to seeing you & your family this weekend for praise, worship, Bible study, fellowship, & food. We are still in the midst of a new sermon series “Joseph’s Technicolor Coat.” Our potluck theme is “All-American “steak” & potato bar” (with “Grandma’s Apple Pie”) in honor of Patriot Day (Friday 9/11) & Grandparent’s Day (Sunday 9/13).
FYI....we are still collecting non perishable items for Dominica following the hurricane several weeks ago. Folks there are in desperate need. A friend of one of our bgsc family members has family in Dominica.....they will be sending a crate soon. We will add our items to theirs! Thank you!

Pizza Pool Party
It’s HOT & Summer’s on! We hope you & your family are well ~ & we look forward to seeing you this weekend at BGSC. Our potluck theme this week is “Pizza Pool Party" (featuring a variety of pizzas, salads, dessert & drink). Of course, we love to have you join us even if you don’t bring a single thing ~ we always have plenty!
Next weekend is July 4th, & BGSC’s 4th Anniversary! We will have a special patriotic service & a big celebration potluck. Join us for hot dogs, chips, macaroni salad/potato salad/coleslaw, baked beans, & all the fixin’s. Let us know if you would like to do a special poem, reading, story, or musical number for our patriotic service next week....
We have had an offer for BGSC to participate in a potential church building mission trip to Laos! It would be in cooperation with ADRA Laos or the Laos Mission. Anybody interested??
We are looking for more folks to lead out in the prayer time, singing/playing a special musical number, or reading a scripture, etc....please let us know!

Summer Picnic in the Park

Our potluck theme this week is “Summer Picnic in the Park" (featuring “yogi” burgers, chips, baked beans, etc). Bring a picnic “side” of your choice. Of course, we love to have you join us even if you don’t bring a single thing ~ we always have plenty (& then some).
We are still collecting wet wipes and diapers in sizes 4, 5, and 6 for Youth Arbor Services...

Mother's Day Luncheon
Happy Mother’s Day Weekend! We hope you & your family are doing well & we look forward to seeing you this weekend at BGSC. Our adult & youth groups will meet at their regular time, followed by the worship hour & then potluck. Our potluck theme this week is “Mother’s Day Luncheon” so bring a favorite dish of yours or your mother’s or grandmother’s to share! Of course, we love to have you join us even if you don’t bring a single thing ~ we always have plenty (and then some)!
Thank you for your emergency offerings for Nepal last weekend ~ BGSC was able to make a sizeable donation because of your generosity. Thanks!
May is Military Appreciation Month, so if you get a chance.....send a note of gratitude to someone in the military or simply keep them in your prayers. We’ll be celebrating our military on Armed Forces Day with a special patriotic potluck next weekend.
We are still collecting flat sheets, soft dog treats, & durable dog toys for the Lexington Humane Society! And....we are still collecting white towels, white twin sheets, pillows, & individually pre-packaged snacks for Youth Arbor Services here in town. In addition, we are collecting carrots, apples, straw, brooms, rakes, & fly spray for the horses at the Kentucky Equine Humane Center. They provide humane treatment and shelter while working to find adopted homes for all of Kentucky’s unwanted/abused/abandoned/homeless horses.

Easter Bunny Brunch

We are still collecting white towels, white twin sheets, pillows, & individually pre-packaged snacks for Youth Arbor Services here in town. In addition, we are collecting carrots, apples, straw, brooms, rakes, & fly spray for the horses at the Kentucky Equine Humane Center. They provide humane treatment and shelter while working to find adopted homes for all of Kentucky’s unwanted/abused/abandoned/homeless horses.

March Madness
