Nautical Nosh

This weekend our potluck theme will be, "Nautical Nosh" featuring "yogi" sandwiches, tator tots, cool summer salads, & "shark" birthday cake!  We'll be celebrating several birthdays.

FYI - a local shelter is still in need of 2 window air conditioner units & youth and/or adult sized bathing suits.  See Melia for details...

NOTE - Soccer practice with Coach is ON for Sunday!  Same time, same place...

COMING UP

August 9 - Potluck theme is "Mexican Hat Dance Haystacks!"

August 16 - Potluck theme is "Back to School!"  That evening, BGSC will serve dinner at the Ronald McDonald House at 7:00 (arrive at 5 pm to help cook/set up)!

August 23 - Potluck theme is "County Fair Carnival" (corn dogs, cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones, etc...)

August 30 - Labor Day Weekend!  Potluck theme is "Let's Luau" as we kiss summer goodbye ;(

Christmas in July

It's hard to believe this is the last weekend of July 2014!  Only six months until we'll be saying Happy Holiday's.....eeeeeeeek!

This weekend our potluck theme will be, "Christmas in July" featuring RED lasagna, fresh GREEN salad, "Grinchy" garlic bread, sparkling cranberry drink, & holiday desserts!

Oasis by the Ocean

This weekend our potluck theme will be, "Oasis by the Ocean" featuring Mediterranean specialities including Greek salad, lemon hummus, olives/feta/falafels/pita bread, stuffed grape leaves, salata, stuffed squash, tabbouleh salad, & baklava.

We have two special celebrations including a baptism anniversary &  birthday!

The youth group will continue running their LemonAID stand during potluck for the next 2 weeks....so bring your loose change!  This initiative benefits homeless kids right here in the Bluegrass!

World Cup Wonder

This weekend our potluck theme will be, "World Cup Wonder!"  Bring a German or Argentinean inspired dish to share.  The youth group will continue running their LemonAID stand during potluck for the next 3 weeks....so bring your loose change!  This initiative benefits homeless kids right here in the Bluegrass...

FYI....There is a young middle school aged girl here in Lexington who is still in desperate need of clothing/shoes/accessories (like socks, headbands, underwear etc).  Let us know if you are interested in participating & we can give you more info like sizing.  We are still collecting items this week/weekend.  Thank you!

BGSC's youth are having a ball playing soccer with Coach Austin this Summer!  Let us know if your kiddos are interested in a good workout.  Sunday morning's at 9 am @ the Schmidt's.  PS: Don't forget to catch the World Cup final this Sunday!

Bluegrass BBQ

Happy 4th of July week!  Thanks to everyone who came out on Sunday evening to help us cook dinner at the Ronald McDonald House!

This weekend we will enjoy a patriotic service & fellowship dinner.  Our potluck theme will be, "Bluegrass BBQ"  featuring BBQ chickettes on sliders, salads, chips, & a big cake celebrating BGSC's 3-year anniversary & Sabrina's birthday.

The youth group will continue running a LemonAID stand during potluck for the next 4 weeks....so bring your loose change!  This initiate benefits homeless kids right here in the Bluegrass.

July 3, 7 pm - BGSC will attend the annual patriotic concert on the lawn @ Transylvania University (picnic @ 7, concert @ 8).  Bring a sandwich along & plan to join us......we'll all share chips, cookies, & drinks.  Text Melia or Andrew with questions regarding where to park, etc!

July 4, 7 am ~ join us for hot donuts & watch the early morning Lex 10k at the corner of Hanover & Richmond Road!  Police will close the roads down by 6:45 am, so come in via Tate's Creek Road if you arrive after that.  It's a ball ~ hope you can make it!  Bring a blanket or lawn chair.  There is a street fair & parade following the 10k if anyone is interested....

July 5 - BGSC will have its 3-year (patriotic) anniversary potluck/celebration (& we will also celebrate Sabrina's birthday)!   Please let us know if you would like to participate by reading a patriotic poem or singing/playing an All-American song!

July 8, 6:00 - BGSC will meet at the Red Mile for a fun evening at the Junior League Horse Show!  (Stick Horse Race is at 6:30 for those 9 & under).  Free tix for the show will be passed out this weekend.

July 12 & 13 - VBS @ Twin Pines where BGSC meets each week.  They have invited our kiddos to participate so let us know if you're interested!
