All-American

We are counting down the weeks to Thanksgiving y’all!  But....this weekend is Veterans Day so our potluck theme will be “All American” (veggie burgers, chips, baked beans, salads, etc) in honor of our service members.  Bring a dish of your choice to share.  If you have any patriotic themed decorations....we’d love to add them to our buffet bar area...thx!

NOTE.....we are still collecting canned goods for our Thanksgiving basket.  We already have a needy family in mind and so we hope you’ll remember to bring items that would contribute to a special dinner for their family.  We will collect nonperishable items through Nov 18...

If you would like to participate in our Thanksgiving Service on November 18....please let us know!  Music?  A story or poem?  Prayer?

If you and your family would be interested in hosting a holiday movie night for our BGSC family ~ please let us know!  Also ~ is anyone interested in going caroling again this year during December?
Don’t forget......we will be having a special baby dedication service along with our traditional Thanksgiving service & “Friendsgiving Dinner” potluck in just over a week on November 18 (in honor of two beautiful baby girls.....Emma Kathryn Greeman & Ellie Gray Calvert)!  There will also be a baptism certificate presented to Ava-Caroline Schmidt!  We hope you can join us for this special celebration in just a few short weeks....

This weekend we welcome Fall ~ it’s finally here!  We will have a light brunch & ONLY hold our morning Bible study this week.......in addition, it will be  delayed until sometime after 11 am due to the burial of our dear Almeda Bibbs (Suzanne Austin’s mother).  The graveside service will be held at the Lexington Cemetery at 9:30 am on Sabbath morning.  We hope you can come ~ but if not, please continue to keep the Austin family in your thoughts and prayers following the unexpected loss of their beloved “Meme.”  Their family is so very loved by our BGSC family and we want them to know our thoughts & prayers are with them during this time of heartache and sadness.  For those of you who are planning to attend the services THIS Friday.....the visitation will be held from 4-6 pm followed by the funeral service at 6:00 pm at Milward Funeral Home, 1509 Trent Blvd, Lexington (only about a mile or so from Twin Pines).  The obituary and additional information can be found at http://milward.mem.com/#/7564531

Immediately following the funeral Friday evening, our BGSC family will host dinner at Twin Pines Christian Church where we meet each week.  We hope you and your family can join us for the meal.  The Austin’s are looking forward to visiting with you.  If you haven’t received the “meal train” link with online information regarding the meal and you would like to bring a dish, visit https://mealtrain.com/ylyl2y

Also ~ we have a couple of folks who may need rides on Friday to and/or from the visitation, funeral and mercy dinner.  If you are willing to provide transportation ~ please contact Melia or Andrew!  Thx!

Tom & Chee

With this beautiful weather....you’d think it was Spring!  Not quite!  We look forward to seeing you & your family this weekend at BGSC.  Our potluck theme is “Tom & Chee!”  We’ll enjoy tomato soups, grilled cheese sandwiches (any breads and cheeses welcome), crackers, dessert and punch.

Big congratulations and best wishes to Ben, Christy & little Ben Greeman!  Baby Emma Kathryn was born healthy and happy on January 12th.  We look forward to meeting her soon!  Continue to keep Sarah Jane  and Brad Calvert in your prayers as they count down the days before they welcome their new baby girl too.  We’ll soon have two precious babies joining our church family!

We are in need of some assistance in our youth department....we have a new “youth” class (teen girls) beginning this week.  We will also be launching our “cradle roll” department in the next few months as we are welcoming several new babies into our church family!  If you are interested in helping out please let us know.....we so appreciate it!

Are you nimble on the ice?!!  We still hope to embark on our annual ice skating party downtown at Triangle Park this month.....but we need a few more folks!

Don’t forget to bring your prayer requests each week ~ we have index cards available so you can make notes & share them during the worship service.  See Grace Anderson if you would like your requests added to the prayer chain...

We love participation in our worship service....so if you would ever like to sing or play a song, read a scripture, tell a children’s story, or help in any other way....please let us know!  And if you would like to coordinate a community volunteer activity for our group ~ we are always searching for new ideas!
Have we missed anyone’s birthday or anniversary?  Please let us know so we can update our list!

Please let us know if you have an updated email address, phone number, or snail mail address.  We love to keep in touch!  Also, please let us know if there is anyone you would like for us to add to our weekly group email.
